Stanley travelled to a tough away fixture at Crigglestone All Blacks with an under strength squad but managed to come away with a victory after playing some of their best rugby of the season in spells.
Stanleys forward line of Owen Trout, Ryan Snowden and Decllan Honeyman laid the platform for half back Jake Smith to pull all the strings during the early exchanges. On the back of good forward play Jake managed to score the opening two tries and also keep Crigg pinned in their own half as he ‘kicked them to death’ with probing cross field efforts which on three occasions forced repeat sets. All credit to Crigg who made Stanley work all the way, and also played some great rugby especially in the second half.
Overall Stanley just had too much for the home side as two scores from Man of Steel Owen Trout and one from Man of the Match Ryan Snowden along with one from away team Man of the Match Declann Honeyman, and a great scoot from hooker Ben Green secured the victory for Rangers. Top Tackler went to the ever improving Brett Miller and Outstanding Effort went to new signing and former Crigg player Nick Wilkinson.
