Stanley Rangers U10s v Dewsbury Celtic U10s
26.09.09
Stanley continued their impressive start to the season with a comfortable victory at home to Dewsbury Celtic.
Stanley started in determined mood and never allowed Dewsbury's forwards to gain any momentum, with some strong organised defending and some impressive attacking play. Away team Man of the Match Alfie Goddard was a constant menace to the Dewsbury defence and finished with his third hatrick in three games. Top Tackler Owen Trout also contributed with three tries and was prominent throughout in attack and defence.
Declan Honeymann followed up last weeks impressive performance with another good display, and also scored, as did Man of the Match Jake Smith, grabbing two tries.. Cameron Lees walked away with the Man of Steel award after again featuring high in the individual tackle count, and looking dangerous with the ball in hand. Joe Hall landed the Outstanding Effort award for his improved defensive display. This was a fine team performance, but there was also good performances from Brett Miller, Stephen Gibbs, Ryan Snowden and Ben Green.
Stanley's good start to the season will be tested next week with a very difficult away trip to Stanningley.
Tries: Alfie Goddard 3, Owen Trout 3), Declan Honeyman, Jake Smith (2)..
Kicks: Alfie Goddard, Owen Trout, Declan Honeyman, Jake Smith, Stephen Gibbs, Liam Brady, Ben Green, Cameron Lees.
