Stanley Rangers U10s v Eastmoor Dragons U10s
10.10.09
Stanley slipped to their second successive defeat at home to local rivals Eastmoor. Both teams exchanged scores at regular intervals, but it was the visitors who throughout the game showed a little bit more desire and skill, but in the end it was only Eastmoor’s ability with the boot that separated the teams.
Away team Man of the Match Ryan Snowden worked hard in the forwards to try and drive the team on and was ably assisted by home Man of the Match Owen Trout, but despite their best efforts Stanley never seemed to get into any sort of rhythm in either attack or defence. Alfie Goddard kept up his record of scoring in every game so far this season by grabbing another two tries, and prop forward Owen Trout was rewarded for his hard work with two tries also. Second rower Stephen Gibbs bagged a well deserved score for the home side which meant that the teams shared 10 tries between them.
Liam Brady was nominated for Man of Steel for an all-round excellent display, with some great one on one tackling. Outstanding Effort went to Owen Trout for a flying try-saving tackle late in the second half. The most pleasing award of the day went to Karsten Wilson who won the Top Tackler award in only his second appearance!!
Tries: Owen Trout 2, Alfie Goddard 2, Stephen Gibbs.
Kicks: Cameron Lees
