Lock Lane U10s v Stanley Rangers U10s
13.12.09
Stanley finished the first half of the season with their third straight win away to a tough Lock Lane outfit. In a game dominated by both offences, Stanley managed to come out the right side of a ten try game.
Prop forward Owen Trout lead the way with a hatrick of tries and was well supported by fellow front rower Declan Honeymann who crossed the whitewash twice himself. Stanley didn’t show their recent defensive form, but made up for that with some imaginative and determined attacking play. Half backs Jake Smith and Alfie Goddard constantly probed the Lock Lane defence, no more so than when Man Of Steel Smith managed to evade three Lock Lane defenders to score in the corner.
Stanley’s width came from away team Man of the Match and Outstanding Effort winner Lewis Pearson, who again impressed, and the effervescent Cameron Lees whose enthusiasm for the game knows no bounds. Liam Brady continued his good recent form and deservedly bagged the Top Tackler award for another display of 100% effort. Man of the Match went to hooker Ben Green - his control of the play the ball area, elusiveness with ball in hand and his fantastic defence was again a joy to watch.
A good end to the first half of the season for the boys, bring on 2010!!
