After the news that we have lost Kieran Holroyd for the rest of the season due to a broken bone in his leg which incidentally he has been training and playing with for the last 3 weeks the lads were a little down hearted but they put in a good strong performance against a very eager Dewsbury Moor side, the game should have been wrapped up by Stanley in the first half but unfortunately we let Dewsbury creep back in the second half and come away with a draw.

With only 13 players available we had to reduce the team down to 11 a side to allow for subs and  the option of being able to give players a breather in the heat. With all this taken into consideration the effort of the lads was absolutely brilliant. Boycey who started in center, had to cover on the wing and then went to full back had a good solid game both in defence and attack and made good yards every time he got the ball. Lewis Locking  made a couple of very important tackles which stopped Dewsbury capitalising and also got close to the try line on a couple of occasions. Matty Ogden was once again covering all over the park and put in a very good defensive effort. Man of the match Thomas Harwood was back to his good old self and commanded the middle of the park, his kicking game was fantastic and he got over for a vital try. Sam Clark had a good first half performance making good yards when he took on the opposition, he had to come off as he is still suffering from the knock that he picked up against Oulton a couple of weeks ago and Corey Eaton took on the scrum half position. Corey picked up the Magic Moment award, he made a massive impact in the second half and just got caught short of the line on a couple of occasions but this was not through lack if trying, he also stepped up his defense and added 2 conversions to 2 of the tries. Jack Badkin moved into the second row from his usual position of hooker and gave a good performance and this meant that Ben Goodlad had to take on the Hooker position which he played faultlessly and picked up the Top Tackler award. George Lord and Ross Grattan had to take up the running for the forwards and were both absolutely solid in defense and attack.
Ashley White stepped up to the mark which earned him the Player of the week award, he made some good strong runs and picked up his defensive game. Harry Hirst put in a sound effort and Adam Badkin had a fantastic game, he broke through so many times that we lost count, he got over for 2 brilliant tries and almost made it a hat trick but just got caught short of the line, Adam picked up the other Magic Moment award for his contribution to the game.

A big Thank you to the Referee Jake Lord who had a very good game in the testing conditions
