Despite a defeat on Saturday the boys showed good passing skills and consistently moved the ball from wing to wing.We were the better rugbying side throughout the game, however two many errors and the lack of completing our sets in the first half proved to be too demanding on our defence. A couple of easy tries which were let in from scooting on the line put the game beyond our reach points wise although the boys battled on and continued to show some promising team skills right to the end of the game. An outstanding performance from George Lord in his new position for the first time at loose forward bagged him the Top Tackler award and the Man of the Match trophy. Adam Badkin received the Magic Moment award for covering across the field and for a great tackle on the opposite winger as well as his input throughout the game. Player of the week awards went to Daniel Blundell for his defence and to Ben Goodlad his usual defence and his overall contribution to the game.
Kieran Holroyd put in his usual good strong performance with his powering runs and solid defence and was within the highest tacklers as usual along with Matthew Ogden, Jack Badkin, Ashley White and Lewis Locking who also made a couple of crunching tackles amongst his numbers.

The half back combination with Thomas Harwood and Sam Clark was the influence on the team with the outstanding ball distribution. Jordan Boyce made a couple of good jinking runs but just couldn't break the Hunslet defence. Ross Grattan held his own in defence and took up some good drives to get us out of trouble on our own line and Harry Hirst made some good yards and took some brave runs facing up to the opposition.
Overall despite the loss it was a good team performance in attack but we still need to work on our defence boys!
