Under 11s Match Reports, 2007-8 Stanley Rangers U11s v Castleford Panthers U11s Stanley Rangers kicked off their new league campaign with a victory over Castleford Panthers. In a relatively tight first both teams displayed good running and strong defence. Stanley managed three tries compared to one breakaway effort from the Panthers. The second half saw Stanley maximise their territorial advantage with five unanswered tries. Worthy of a much higher league, Danny Sowerby's cross field kick produced a hat-trick try for Man of the Match Max Jowitt. Another notable performance was Alex Keaney’s all-round contribution. Much to the credit of the Panthers they kept testing Rangers’ defensive concentration right until the final whistle which made for a very watchable game. Stanley’s tries came from Max Jowitt (3), Alex Keaney, Matthew English, Ben Hardacre, Jacob Ware and Keiran Holt. Man of the Match: Max Jowitt and Magic Moment went to Danny Sowerby. |
