Under 11s Wildcats Match Reports, 2007-8 Stanley Wildcats U11s v Headingley Hawks U11s This game began as a bit of a try fest with both teams very quick to make their mark. The visitors were the first to register points with a try in the very first minute. Stanley replied with their first attack to level the scores and it was Headingley that registered another try almost immediately to retain the lead. A further score from the Wildcats, with a goal added, saw them nose in front. Once the game settled down it was the Wildcats that started to play the more flowing rugby and their defence was much tighter. The Wildcats were in front at half time and started the second half very strongly adding further points and in the end the fitness and numbers told as the Wildcats ran out comfortable winners. The try scorers were Alex Hobson with a fine hat trick, 2 tries each from Jack Pemberton and Ben Fisher and a further try from Lewis Gower. Four conversions were added to the 8 tries by Dominic Dorgan, Robert Hartley, Joe Smith and Alex Hobson. The visitors scored 4 tries in reply but were unable to add any further points. Another victory sees the Wildcats extend their unbeaten record with 5 games to go until the mid season break. The Man of the Match award winners were Ben Fisher and Mark Bainbridge, with the Magic Moment award going to Alex Hobson for his hat trick of tries. |
