Stanley did exactly to the Panthers what they did to us away from home, and bagged a quick fire 3 tries. The game started with a perfectly executed scrum play, with Keiran Holt putting Ben Hardaker in to score the opener. The second was a fine score with Danny Sowerby throwing a cut out ball to leave Max Jowitt a clear run to the line.
The game slowed a bit, and a freaky series of injuries left us without Max Jowitt, Jacob Ware, Danny Johnson, and Daniel Sowerby, all of these within a 3 minute period. The players who moved in- Callum Upton, Tyler Lockwood, Alex Keaney Sam Walker and Tom Pawsey - all maintained the high level of performance.
Man of the Match and two try scorer Jacob Ware came out all guns blazing in the second half, and ran like we know he can. His contribution to the later part of the game was vital for keeping the tempo high.
Daniel Sowerby created 4 tries in no time, and produced a superb kicking game in the most horrendously windy conditions. He was awarded the Opposition Man of the Match.
The Magic Moment winner went to hard hitting stand off Ben Hardaker, who produced a wonderful catch and pass in one movement off Daniel Sowerby to Jacob Ware to score, it was the best pass of the game, well done Ben.
The Oopposition Man of the Match was awarded to a player who I am sorry but I do not know his name. Callum the "pit bull" was his nickname - he never took a backward step, and hit hard in defence, well done Callum.
The Rangers have 2 weeks off and we visit Drighlington on the 11th April, followed by the last game of the season on the 18th against Dewsbury Celtic.
