Stanley Rangers have now started to show the form we know they are capable of producing with a scintillating 48 points to nil victory over a big and aggressive Churwell outfit. Churwell came out all guns blazing with their number 14 hitting the ball up very impressively, and gaining our opposition man of the match.
Stanley maintained composure and scored some wonderful tries out wide, and Daniel Sowerby having a wonderful game creating the majority of the tries and scoring himself too. The front row again were in top form, super distribution from Ben Cornell, and awesome yardage being made by both Callum Sampson and Jonny Holmes, and Callum producing a seasons best performance by not only tanking the ball up, but working some wonderful plays in the middle too. He was awarded the Stanley Man of the match. The other pack men led by Kieran Holt were awesome, and working on the back of this was Dom "Jesus" Jones playing at stand off for the first time. Dom was very good, solid in defence, and dependable in attack, and showing his versatility in playing the position. Dom was awarded the opposition man of the match for his efforts.
The outside backs again backed up the forwards with some wonderful running, Jacob even playing at loose strayed out wide to cause havoc, with Max Jowitt proving his ability with ball in hand or in support.
The performance was wonderful, and we all meet next week to play Acorn in the cup.
