Stanley Rangers U12s 78 v Crigglestone All Blacks U12s 0
Wakefield U12s Cup Semi Final
07.05.09
Stanley eased their way into the Wakefield Cup Final after a demolition job on Crigglestone All Blacks coming out winners 78 to nil.
Stanley, even though we scored many tries, won this game on the back of the best defensive effort I have ever seen from this group of players.
The Man of the Match could have gone to any of the players with Keiran Holt, Callum Sampson, Jonny Holmes, Jacob Ware, Ben Hardaker and Daniel Sowerby were all in scintillating form in running, scoring, creating, and structure.
Max and his wing men Callum Upton and Alex Hobson were solid as a rock at the back. The interchange bench were awesome, and the enthusiasm from all 17 boys was a pleasure to watch.
The Opposition Man of the Match went to the industrial and aggressive hooker, Ben Cornell, who was outstanding throughout.
Man of the Match was awarded to Alex Hobson who showed his all-round ability, never put a foot wrong and made all the right decisions at the right time.
Magic Moment was awarded to Max Jowitt who kicked a perfect goal from the touch line.
The Opposition Man of the Match chosen by Stanley was awarded to Lee Alderson for his never-say-die attitude in both attack and defence.
The Rangers play Shaw Cross Sharks this Sunday (10th) in the Breast Cancer Charity Challenge Cup Final and it will no doubt be a bone-shuddering encounter.
The Wakefield Cup Final is now on Saturday 23rd May, with our opponents being Normanton Knights Under 12s.
