Drighlington U12s 4 v Stanley Rangers U12s 36
11.04.09
Stanley blasted Drigh off the park and like Drig had players missing. The performance in parts was highly pleasing with some wonderful attacking rugby, only restricted by the unbelievably small pitch we played on. I was very impressed with our defence who looked outstanding for most parts, and created a solid wall for our opposition to run at.
The Drigh coach could not name an Opposition man of the match but gave us the choice between three players, Daniel Sowerby, Jacob Ware, and Keiran Holt. I decided to let KH have the award for his energy and enthusiasm, as well as his ability. KH ran hard all game and proved a tough defender too.
Daniel Sowerby, again on top form, was the creator and opened up the Drigh defence at will, and with two try-saving tackles had a superb game. Jacob Ware tore the right side defence apart in the first half, not letting lack of space stop him, he ran hard, and with pace proving he can do it. JW bagged a wonderful hat trick in a ten minute period - well done to all the boys.
The Magic Moment could only go one way, a fine three try effort by Jacob ware!
The Man of the Match award was chosen by me and over the whole game Max Jowitt who played wing, centre, and fullback did not put a foot wrong. His kick returns were outstanding, as was his defence, a well deserved MOM for a very good player.
Rangers had some superb performances all over the field, and not always mentioned is the interchange bench, and this week Tom Pawsey, Callum Upton, and Tyler Lockwood all came on and stood up, as did Jack Ledger who defies his size with some awsome defence.
Well done boys TOP OF THE LEAGUE WITH ONE TO GO!!!!!
