Stanley Rangers U12s 38 v Shaw Cross Sharks U12s 0
Breast Cancer Care Charity Challenge Cup
10.05.09
The first Breast Cancer Care Charity Challenge Cup was won by Stanley Rangers U12s 38 points to 0 against Shaw Cross Sharks U12s. The Shaw Cross boys gave their all, but with some players missing and a heavy schedule this week they were no match for the dynamic Rangers side who came out victors. The Rangers looked far better off in the energy stakes from the off, as the Sharks looked to feeling the cup and service area games they had played in the last 4 days.
The Rangers kept to a strict pattern from the off, and produced some superb go forward enabling the dynamic runners Jacob Ware and Kieran Holt to exploit a stretched defence out wide. The back three all looked good, with Max Jowitt, Sam Walker and Danny Johnson all excelling in both defence and attack.Jonny Holmes and Jack Donagan looked great going foward and Tyler Lockwood is improving by the week.
Daniel Sowerby produced a masterclass performance in distribution and executing moves, and with the awesome running lines shown by the best 2 strike runners out there - Jacob Ware and Kieran Holt - the outcome was never in doubt. Jacob, Kieran, and Daniel are now looking more intune than ever, and that is a very pleasing thought.
The Man of the Match was chosen by Danny Brough, who awarded Daniel Sowerby the medal, which was presented by Halifax front rower Frank Watene. Stanley Rangers own Emma King handed the cup to stand in captain in Callum Sampsons in the absence of Daniel Sowerby.
I can only offer a massive well done to everybody for a sensational performance on the field, and the players and parents pulled together to make the whole day a fantastic experience.
