Stanley Rangers U12s 20 V Stanningley U12s 14
14.03.09
The Stanley Under 12s came out 20 points to 14 winners in a game against a top side full of high quality players. The game was a game of two halves with Stanley dominating the first period, and Stanningley the second.
The Opposition Man of the Match was awarded to Jordan Lilley who all of the coaches thought was superb throughout the game. Jordan led the Stanningley boys from the front, his high quality distribution was superb in shocking weather conditions, and so was his defence, so well done Jordan for taking the last 3 Opposition Man of the Match awards.
The Magic Moment was awarded to our star full back Danny Johnson, who timed his run onto a perfect grubber kick from Daniel Sowerby to register a score that any coach would be proud of. wwell done Danny J - a game turning effort.
The Opposition Man of the Match was awarded to the tireless efforts of our stand out back rower today Keiran Holt. KH hit everything in sight, ran like a demon, and now links up very well with our half backs in and around the ruck area.
The Man of the Match award was given to Daniel Sowerby. All the coaches thought his contribution today was the reason we won this game. Daniel produced a wonderful kicking game in shocking conditions, and created 3 out of our 4 tries. Daniel produced a short passing game and that kept us in the game. Well done Daniel on today's effort.
Jacob Ware was also in top form in attack. Jacob now looks like the player we all know, and is running the lines of our play makers that he will benefit the most from. He is a massive player, and played very well.
The front row again played very well, Jonny Holmes, and Callum Sampson led from the front, and were directed around the park by Ben Cornell who is playing his best ever rugby at this moment.
The game next week is against Castleford Panthers, and we are looking foward to that match.
The other thing to mention is the spirit the game was played in was nothing short of amazing. These two high quality sides have a very high level of respect for each other, and that was a pleasure to see, well done to all the boys from both sides.
