Crigglestone All Blacksl U12s 6 v Stanley Rangers Under 12s 18
Yorkshire Juniors Challenge Cup, Round One
23.01.10
The team put in an outstanding performance this weekend against Crigglestone All Blacks away from home in the first round of the Yorkshire Juniors Challenge Cup to come away with a fantastic win.
Congratulations to every one of the lads for their performances on a quagmire of a pitch. Well done to Matthew Taylor and Alex Drury who both made their debut's for the team and both players put in a tremendous effort, Matthew Taylor going over for a fantastic try and picking up the Magic Moment award and Alex Drury picking up Player Of The Week for his contribution to the game and for his efforts in training this week. Adam Badkin and Lewis Heckford both picked up the Top Tackler award and deservedly so for their defensive game's and Adam Badkin also added points to the score with a try. Kieran Holroyd powered over the line for the final try which put the game out of the reach of Crigglestone. Thomas Harwood converted 2 of the tries and George Lord popped over 2 fantastic drop goals to add to the points at a vital stage of the match. Despite the pitch condition Jack Badkin in his role as hooker never made a mistake or gave a bad pass throughout the whole of the game and this earned Jack the Man of the Match award. Jordan Boyce at full back took every ball that was kicked at him, Daniel Blundell, Liam Sellers, Travis Pearson, Matthew Taylor and Matthew Ogden all had good defensive and attacking games on the wings, Lewis Heckford and Lewis Locking both needed the pitch to be full size and there would have been no stopping them from scoring and each one of the centre's played a vital part in defense coming up with some crunching tackles. Thomas Harwood and Corey Eaton commanded the middle of the field at stand off and scrum half, prop forwards Ross Grattan and Kieran Holroyd took up the running throughout with Jack Badkin making the right decision every single pass of the game, second row forwards Ben Goodlad, Adam Badkin and Alex Drury all had hard defensive games and put in a massive effort, George Lord's kicking game was out of this world and his vital decision making put points on the score when we needed them the most.
Well done boy's let's look forward to next weeks game now and carry on with the winning performances.
