The U12s team played top of the division team Crigglestone All Blacks at Stanley this weekend and came out on top with a 21-0 win.
The first 10 minutes of the game were very evenly matched and the game could have gone either way but after settling down and a great team effort, the lads played some fantastic rugby to not only win the game but to hold out the opposition from scoring.
The defensive line was almost unbreakable and when Crigglestone did manage to break through there was some fantastic cover tackles made. Kieran Holroyd put in his usual hard working defensive effort and was this weeks Top Tackler although George Lord, Adam Badkin and Thomas Harwood were also in double figures.
Matthew Ogden managed to take a kick on the last tackle and weaved his way through to score and this earned him the Magic Moment award.
Despite having to leave the field in the first few minutes of the game after a high tackle on him and also carrying a knee injury, Ben Goodlad kept going back onto the field and giving his all in both defence and attack and was awarded Player of the Week for his efforts.
George Lord picked up the Man of the Match award this week for his fantastic ball handling and kicking game and he had a hand or a boot! in all of the tries, George also popped over another of his vital drop goals. Try scorers this week were Matthew Taylor, Matthew Ogden, Adam Badkin and Kieran Holroyd each scoring a try apiece with Thomas Harwood adding two conversions.
