Stanley had a complete reversal of last week with a very poor first half and a much improved second half.
Stanley after missing Harry Davey at Hooker looked a little bit slow and lacking any ideas found themselves 10 points down after 10 minutes, and looked a shadow of the team of last season. The team then with their heads down were awarded a penalty near the East Leeds line, and quick-thinking Matty Hobson scooted over from short range to score the first points. Stanley then began to play, and in the second half with some very long powerful runs by Jordan O'Niell we started to believe in ourselves. The game was turning our way and Levi Johnson with a very smart chip over the defence found speedster Thomas Sowerby latching onto the ball and racing 50 yards to score the second try and with the conversion the scores were level.

Jordan O'Niell and Mathew Sowerby were both running well, and Jordan was in his best form blasting 20 yards off our line, Johnson chipped again about 20 yards with Thomas Sowerby taking the kick at full speed he then drew the full back and passed to support player Matty Hobson who scored the best try of the game, and put us 14 points to 10 up.This was awarded the Magic Moment.

The next try was a sensational one man effort from Jordan O'Niell who ran a full 60 yards smashing players off and skinning the full back for pace - an outstanding effort that no doubt helped him win a well deserved Opposition Man of the Match.

The Man of the Match was given to a winger who looked like he was on fire the whole game, and not in attack, but in defence - Jacob Barnes tackled everything that was thrown down his wing with ease. Jacob looked the business today.

The big strike players like TJ, Tommy G, Lewis C  and Harry H got nothing like the amount of ball we would have liked, and we did not get the go forward we would have liked as a result. The team are home to Oulton next week, and we are looking for a more complete performance throughout the whole game and not just one half.
