Stanley Rangers U13s kept their noses in front at the top of the table after a dogged team performance against title holders Castleford Panthers.

Tom Mulhern was solid in defence to earn him the well deserved Man of the Match award and Stanley dominating the first half 16-0.

The second half began with both sides hitting each other hard and fast but it was Panthers who broke the deadlock to put the first scores on the board.  Both teams continued to play fast open rugby but defences dominated in a great game.

In the end it was Stanley who came away 30-8 winners and the all important two points which was a credit to every member of the team who put together a controlled performance led from the back by skipper and stand off Jordan Howden and coached from the sides by the chuckle brothers Steve Copley and Chris Cartwright.

Try scorers were Liam Green (2), Vinny Cross, Matty Burman, Jordan Walker, Jack Rules with conversions from Charlie Ledger and Joe Unwin.
