Stanley had a wonderful win at the weekend against a very good Celtic outfit who never gave up, and played the game very fairly.

 

Stanley took on the Celtic pack and won the battle as they did out wide too, with some sublime skills, and ball movement on display. The game was played hard and fast, with every member of our squad doing their part.

 

Stanley had options all over the field, and this was on the back of great go forward and defence by all the team, especially the pack.

 

The Stanley Men of the Match this week went to Kiran Holt and Ben Cornell who both played superbly well - Kieran with his blistering runs and Ben for his outstanding defence. This week no opposition man of the match was awarded due to the fact that no Celtic coaches, or liaison came back to the club, but hey, that's more jaffa cakes for us!!!!

 

Tom McGretton had a fine performance today at stand off and was awarded the Magic Moment for a great kicking display from hand with 2 scores coming from it.

 

Danny was also great in the kicking department, and defended superbly. Max was great at full back and with Callum, Jonny, Jack, and Matty E all making yards it made the job of the backs a doddle.

 

Ben Hardaker was again outstanding, running with power and pace, looking great at loose. and with new boy Luke Smith looking fantastic already the future is looking very bright..

Next weekend, the team travel to Dewsbury Celtic in the third round of the BARLA Yorkshire Cup.
