Stanley Rangers U13s 24 v Drighlington U13s 12
17.10.09
Stanley dominated the first period with some slick passing, strong running and some fantastic plays. The whole Stanley pack this week need to take a bow, and none more so that captain, and Stanley Man of the Match winner Callum Sampson who was inspirational in both attack and defence. Callum took every carry, and defended like his life depended on it.
Daniel Sowerby was simply outstanding in attack and defence, and scored 2 early tries and created more scoring chances that any previous game this season to prove he is the number 1 halfback in the comp. Daniel was awarded the Opposition Man of the Match medal, and it was well deserved.
Kieran Holt and Matty English again excelled, with Matty producing a season's best performance and Kieran being his awesome-as-always self. Kieran is the best back rower out there and can have a massive future in the game.
Will Hudson's return was music to our ears, and we are now finally getting players back, with only Callum Upton, Joe Foster, Jack Donnegan, and Tom Broom missing its the most players we have had all season.
Dom "jesus" Jones looked solid at the back, and made his tackle of the season with a fantastic effort on the outstanding Drig 13 to stop a certain try. Dom was awarded the Magic Moment.
Ben Hardaker, was awesome in attack, and looks devastating with ball in hand.
A great win today against a very good side, things are turning around, with more players coming back we can only get better.
