Milford Marlins U13s 8 v Stanley Rangers U13s 28
26.11.09
Stanley came to Leeds to play the league leaders and run away points scorers Milford. Stanley again with a somewhat depleted side produced a very good performance to secure a well deserved win.
The game was a very hard arm wrestle for the first 15 minutes with Milford taking the lead with a try after a Stanley error.
Stanley responded in the first half with three tries from McGretton, Hardaker, and Mawson who all scored from three pin point kicks from Opposition Man of the Match Daniel Sowerby.
The game was won down the middle with the Stanley forwards all playing fantastically, especially the front row and Stanley Man of the Match Matthew English who excelled throughout in both defence and attack.
Jack Donnegan who himself will admit started the season slowly has exploded onto the scene with some wonderful displays, this being the best so far. Jack was awarded the Magic Moment for a great individual try.
Luke Smith, our latest and valuable new recruit, showed just how good he is with two fantastic tries in the second half which fiinally ended any comeback from the home side.
I do however have to add that after it was a pleasure to go to a game with a very fair official, wonderful spectators both home and away, and a clean hard fought game - well done to everyone at Milford for their hospitality.
