Shaw Cross Sharks U13s 4 v Stanley Rangers U13s 46
Yorkshire Cup
07.02.10
Stanley eased into the next round of the Yorkshire Cup with a superb display against a big and powerful Dewsbury side, led by 4 try hero Alex Hobson who was clinical in his finishing, and also produced a vintage performance in defence. Alex is a confidence player, and when he is relaxed, he is a top quality outside back, and one who can turn a game, like he did on this game.
Callum Sampson and Jonny Holmes led from the front with a massive work rate, suported by both English and try scorer Jack "the Pirate" Donnegan. The forwards played hard and fast, and after conceding a score in the first set, we responded with a vengeance.
Callum led from the front with some super runs, off loads, and tackles, and was rewarded by Shaw Cross with the Opposition Man of the Match - a well deserved medal, not only for his performance, but his fantastic leadership skills, which are top drawer.
A cross field kick placed inch perfect by Daniel Sowerby was superbly caught and touched down by the sensational Max Jowitt. Jow was superb all game, and defended like a front rower, he was awesome, and by far his best game so far. Well done Max! Max was awarded the Magic Moment for this play, but was great all game and fully deserved this award.
Daniel Sowerby this week was awarded the Man of the Match by Roy and proved what a great defensive and attacking scrum half he is. Daniel produced a fantastic performance, and deserved the award.
The performance was great, Hardaker again performing in both defence and attack, and looking every inch the perfect loose forward.
