Under 13s Match Reports, 2006-7 Westgate Redoubt U13s 14 v Stanley Rangers U13s 8 Stanley Rangers Under 13s were just beaten 14-8 by Westgate Redoubt in the final of the Wakefield Cup played at Belle Vue Stadium on the 20th May 2007. Westgate opened the scoring in the first half with a try from Tom Sykes, but James Glover replied for Rangers in the second half after an evenly-fought first period. However a try from Westgate's Parker, goalled by Casey Johnson gave them a six point lead, followed by a further try from Ryan Foyle. Adam Megretton reduced the deficit with a try for Stanley and had two tries disallowed. All the players were superb and the parents and coaches are very proud of the team's achievements this season - beaten semi-finalists in the Continuation Cup, runners-up in the Wakefield Cup and joint second in the FAm Yorkshire League Third Division. They are now taking a well earned break now and start training again in July.
