Stanley Rangers U14s 28 v Hunslet Parkside 6
27.09.09
This was anticipated to be a very physical encounter and certainly proved to be one. Tom Mulhern scored from the kick-off after a good charge down field from the Rangers pack. However Hunslet scored a converted try from the re start to give the visitors a 4-6 lead. Stanley began to dominate in the contact area and created numerous scoring opportunities, Jordan Walker scored after a sweeping passing move across the line. Vinnie Cross adding one of his own as the backs linked up well under pressure to see him cross in the corner. Tom Mulhern also went over on two further occasions after an individual run stepping through the Parkside defense and another display of fast hands by the stand off Jordan Howden to complete his hat-trick.
This was an all round excellent team performance with Matty Burman taking the Man of the Match award with an outstanding attacking and defensive display dominating the opposition pack all game
