Stanley gave away some silly penalties early on and defended like their lives depended on it under a barrage of Milfford attacks from around the ruck area. The Milford side worked very hard and just on enthusiasm alone won the ruck area battle and in the last 5 minutes of the half scored 2 tries and went in 10 points to nil up.
Stanley needed to score first to keep in the game, but from early in the second set Milford kicked over and collected to score and push the scoreline out to 14 to nil, leaving the Stanley boys' heads down.
The Milford final try was against the run of play but we looked tired and beaten when Alex Hobson intercepted to score a 4 pointer. The effort was there, but on the day the better side won, with a tough and determined display, full of enthusiasm. Milford in this mood are a difficult side to beat..
