A hat trick from Parents and Players Man of the Match Wayde Rankine, saw the Wildcats defeated by the narrowest of margins in their Wakefield Cup tie with Normanaton Knights a division above them.
Normanton were leading 6 4 at half time, but the Wildcats came back strong in the second half forcing extra time at 18 all.
Other tries came from Liam Gaunt and Ben Fisher with Liam converting (1).
The result at the final whistle was 22 - 24.
