War of the Roses Challenge

In the 3rd War of the Roses contest held at Staningley Sunday 24th April, the Yorkshire Junior League entertained the NWC in what has become an annual event now and we were entertained with two fantastic games of rugby league played in great spirit by all four teams.
The U15s were two team from the very first War of the Roses - Stanley Rangers and Bold Miners - when Bold took the scalp that day in a closely fought contest, so we were expecting another hard game and were not dissapointed. The game was end to end throughout with excellent ball handling skills and hard crunching tackles keeping the enthusiastic fans entertained all through the game. With full time only 5 minutes away both teams were tied at 12 all and extra time looked on the cards but Stanley got the break they needed to score the winning try.
