RANGERS 3-PEAKS CHALLENGE COMING CLOSER

It's just 11 days to go til Stanley Rangers take on their massive annual challenge with the Three Peaks Walk. There will be 12 walkers with a big support team and transport to get them round from Ben Nevis to Scafell Pike and Snowdonia. The two charities that will be sharing the donations are Andy's Man Club and Prostate Cancer Research UK, both of which mean a great deal to our club. The remainder will help Stanley Rangers funds to provide equipment for all age groups and encourage boys and girls to enjoy the great sport of rugby league.

Stanley Rangers v Oulton Raiders GameStanley Rangers travelled to Oulton Raiders and came away with a 44-16 win. Rangers still stay at the top of Division Four with 14 wins out of 14.

The next game for Rangers is the Final of the YML Shield Cup on Saturday 6th August against Kirkburton Cougars at the Foxes Biscuits Stadium, Batley. The kick off is at 1pm and admission is £5. Stanley Rangers v Oulton Raiders gameThe Open Age game against Oulton Raiders which was originally set for this Saturday, 23rd July, has now been rearranged to next Tuesday - July 26th - at 7pm. Please come along and support the team against near neighbours Oulton. The Raider Park is on Wakefield Road, Oulton, LS26 8EL.

The Open Age team have a match against neighbours Oulton Raiders on Saturday 23rd July, kick off at 2.30pm. They remain at the top of the Division Four table, with 13 wins from 13 games. On the 6th August, the Open Age team take on second place Kirkburton Cougars in the final of the Yorkshire Mens League Shield Cup at the Fox's Biscuits Stadium, Batley.

The Yorkshire Junior and Youth League has now finished for the summer and returns in September. Our teams may be taking part in festivals which will be posted here when confirmed.

RANGERS THREE PEAKS CHALLENGE IN THE NEWS

The Big Challenge for Stanley Rangers this year - the Three Peaks Challenge - takes place on the 12th August - not long to go. We have over a dozen volunteers tackling the twenty four challenge beginning with Ben Nevis, driving to Scafell Pike and then on to Snowdonia. YML Final poster Our Open Age team are through to the final of the Yorkshire Mens League Shield Cup which is taking place on the 6th August at the Fox's Biscuits Stadium in Batley - home of the Batley Bulldogs. The kick off is at 1pm.

On Saturday 16th July, the Under 11s are at home to Whinmoor with a 12 noon kick off; the Open Age will be at home against Underbank Rangers kicking off at 1.30pm and the Masters team will travel to Normanton Masters, kick off 4pm. Then on Sunday 17th July, the Under 15s are away at Lock Lane, the Under 9s are away at Methley with a 9.30am kick off, the Under 8s are at home against Hemsworth 11.30am kick off and the Under 7s will also be at home against Sharlston U7s, kick off at 10am.

Riley Britton One of our Under 15s players and a current Wakefield Trinity scholar - Riley Britton - has also done his first aid training and was at the Open Age game at Ranger Park on the 2nd July when a member of the crowd was taken ill. Riley put his training into practice, remaining calm and confident, attending to the gentleman until an ambulance arrived and the patient was taken to hospital. Thankfully, he has been allowed to go home with no further effects. His family have been in touch with Riley to express their thanks and everyone at Stanley Rangers is very proud of Riley and what he did on that day. Read more on the link below:

RANGERS THROUGH TO THE YML SHIELD CUP FINAL

Stanley Rangers v Seacroft Sharks game Stanley Rangers Open Age team had a great win over Seacroft Sharks 54-0 in the semi-final of the Yorkshire Mens League Shield Cup. Try scorers were Liam Grimmett, Ryan Snowden, Cameron Halliwell, Jack Ledger, Jacob Harte, Owen Hopkinson and a hat-trick for Danny Grice, with  9 successful conversions by Dan Ansell.

Rangers will face Kirkburton Cougars in the final, who beat Goole Vikings 28-8 in the other semi- final. The final will be played on the 6th August at the Batley Bulldogs stadium, with a 1pm kick off.

Meanwhile the Open Age are back in action tonight _5th July - away at Garforth, with a 7.30pm kick off. The ground address is Glebelands, Ninelands Lane, Garforth, LS25 1NT.

After a difficult first 60 minutes Rangers ran out eventual winners 40-14. A scoreline that doesn't reflect Garforth and their solid performance for the majority of that match. Great game and a good Tuesday evening crowd. Shout out to Proctor and Ambler on solid debut performances.

The next game for the Open Age team is on the 16th July.
STANLEY RANGERS BIG CHALLENGE IS HERE!

Our annual fundraising event for the club is the BIGGEST one ever! A group from Rangers teams will tackle the Three Peaks Challenge on the 12th August. To complete the three peaks - Scafell Pike, Snowdon and Ben Nevis - in 24 hours is a mighty challenge and all the funds raised will go to every team from the Minis to the Masters to provide equipment and to help us continue to provide a safe and welcoming environment for all boys and girls from 3 to 3+.

Open Age GameThis Saturday - 2nd July - Rangers Open Age take on Seacroft Sharks in the semi final of the Yorkshire Mens League Shield Cup, kick off at 2.30pm. The other semi-final is between Goole Vikings v Kirkburton Cougars. The final will be played at Batley on the 6th August.

What a game! Come along and give our team your support. The Masters also play at home on Saturday against Doncaster Toll Bar Masters, kicking off at 1pm.

Saturday - 2nd July - the Under 11s will be playing against Batley Boys U11s at home, with an 11am kick off. On Sunday, the Under 15s have a 10.30am kick off at home against Dewsbury Moor and the Under 16s are also at home against Dewsbury Celtic with an 11.30am kick off. Our other junior teams all have away fixtures - the Under 9s away at Methley; the Under 8s away at Hunslet Club Parkside and finally our Under 7s travel to Ackworth Jaguars.

On Sunday 26th, the Under 18s have a Wakefield District Cup game against Eastmoor Dragons away, kick off at 12.30; the Under 16s are away at Wibsey Warriors; the Under 15s and Under 14s don't have a game; the Under 9s are at home against Wibsey Warriors with an 11.30am kick off; the Under 8s are away at York Acorn and the Under 7s are at home against Elland with a 10am kick off.

The Open Age had a 68-0 win over a spirited Thornhill Trojans and the Under 18s had a good win over Wakefield Hawks 48-24. In other games the Under 15s just lost out at Stanningley 16-24 and the Under 14s lost 0-22 to Lindley Swifts.

All our teams are in action this week and at the weekend. On Wednesday 15th the Under 12s have an evening fixture at Emley Moor with a 7pm kick off and on Thursday 16th June the Under 18s are away at Wakefield Hawks kicking off at 7.30pm. 

On Saturday 18th June, the Under 12s are at home to Heworth 10.30am KO, the Under 11s have a home game against Cutsyke 12 noon kick off and the Open Age team will be at home against Thornhill Trojans, kick off at 2.30pm.

On Sunday 19th June, the Under 16s are at home to Batley Boys 12.30 KO, the Under 15s travel to Stanningley, the Under 14s are at home against Lindley Swifts kicking off at 11am, the Under 9s are away at Sherburn, the Under 8s have a home game against King Cross Park 10am kick off and the Under 7s are away at Batley Boys.

OPEN AGE KEEP UP THE PRESSURE

This season, Rangers Open Age team have stayed at the top of the YML Division Four table with 10 out of 10 wins, beating Stanningley 46-4 last Saturday.
They have progressed through to the next round of the YML Shield Cup with a 34-22 win over Sherwood Wolf Hunt and take on Seacroft Sharks in the next round on July 2nd.

Max Jowitt and U8s and U9sWakefield Trinity held a Takeover Evening at Stanley Rangers on June 9th and we were delighted to have Trinity fullback Max Jowitt to come along. to train with the Under 8s and Under 9s.  Max began his rugby league right here at Stanley Rangers and it was great to see him back. Thanks to Max and Charlie Doherty and well done to everyone for a fantastic evening!

Stanley Rangers Jubilee Fun Day 4th June 2022Family Fun Day at Stanley Rangers to celebrate the Jubilee is on Saturday 4th June 2022. Tthe clubhouse will be open from 11.30am onwards and there will be tombola stalls, raffles, glitter tattoos -  lots of fun for everyone!

Stanley Rangers Masters One Year anniversary
Stanley Rangers Masters are celebrating their 1 year anniversary. Yes, it's just one year since the Masters were formed and their first ever game. In that time there have been 18 games; 35 players have represented the Rangers Masters with 297 combined appearances; we have just registered our first Green shorter (a player over 70) and had fathers, sons, uncles, brothers and brothers-in-law all taking the field together. Congratulations and here's to many more years to come!

 The motto of the Masters is:

The Open Age team had another good win on Saturday beating Moorends Thorne Marauders 54-16 with Joe Campbell as Man of the Match. This result keeps Stanley on the top of the Division Four table. The Under 15s won 40-24 at Heworth in the Challenge Cup and will play Oulton Raiders at home on the 22nd May in the next Challenge Cup round. The Under 18s were narrowly beaten 18-16 by Brighouse Rangers on May 1st and the Under 14s lost 4-14 against Hemsworth Dragons.

In this week's fixtures, the Under 12s will be playing on Wednesday 11th May at home against Garforth Tigers kicking off at 7.30pm. On Saturday 14th the Open Age are away at Kippax and Swillington Miners and the Under 11s will have a rearranged fixture to be confirmed. On Sunday 15th May,  the U16s are away at Bramley Rugby League, the U15s game has been postponed, the U14s are away at Eastmoor Dragons, the Under 9s are at home against Bradford Dudley Hill with a 10am kick off, the U8s are away at Hunslet Club Parkside and the Under 7s are away at Doncaster Toll Bar.

There has been a rearrangement of the under 6s to under 11s junior teams by the Yorkshire Youth and Junior. This now means that the Under 7s are in Group 2, the Under 8s are in Group 2, the Under 9s are in Group 5 and the Under 11s are in Group 2. The team pages will be updated to show this.

Then on Saturday (30th April), the Under 11s are at home to Eastmoor, kick off 11.00; the Under 12s are away at Elland with a 9.30am kick off and the Under 16s have an away game against Cutsyke Raiders with a 13.00 kick off. On Sunday, our Under 7s have an away game at Lock Lane, kick off at 10.00am; the Under 9s are also away at Doncaster, kick off 11.30am; the Under 14s play against Hemsworth Dragons at Featherstone, 1.30pm kick off and the Under 18s have an away game at Brighouse Rangers, with an 11.30am kick off.

It's 6 wins out of 6 games for the Open Age team! On Saturday 23rd April Rangers had a home game against Kirkburton Cougars and came away 42-8 winners. This result keeps the team at the top of YML Division Four
with a healthy points difference. This weekend's match against Drighlington in the YML Shield competition, has been forfeited.

On April  3rd at the Wakefield Trinity v Salford Red Devils game, our Under 8s team took part in the pre-match festival. Here they're pictured with Wakefield Trinity's Daddy Cool and the World Cup trophies. Tthe Rugby League World Cup were with its ambassadors, showing off the three trophies which will be listed at the end of the year.

Stanley Rangers Open Age scrumStanley Rangers played their first away game of the season last Saturday - 2nd April - against Underbank Rangers. Underbank had been unbeaten so far this season, as had Stanley, but it was Stanley who came away with the two points, winning 50-18. Man of the Match Liam Grimmett scored four tries and Danny Grice kicked six successful conversions. This result keeps Stanley at the top of the YML Division Four table.

The next game is a home game this coming Saturday - 9th April - against Stanningley, with a 2.30pm kick off. Come along and give the team your support for what promises to be a very interesting match!

A busy weekend is in store for Stanley Rangers teams. On Friday 8th April the Masters will be at home to Eastmoor Dragons Masters with a 6.30pm kick off. Come down to Ranger Park for a great evening.

On Saturday 9th April, the Under 12s are at home to Dewsbury Moor with a 10.30am kick off; the Under 11s are also at home against Elland kicking off at 12.30 and the Open Age team will be at home to Stanningley, 2.30pm kick off.

On Sunday 10th April, the Under 18s are at home to Eastmoor Dragons with a 1pm kick off; the Under 16s are at home against Wibsey Warriors, 11.30 am kick off; the Under 15s are away at Birstall Victoria; the Under 14s are at home against Bolsover Bulls with a 10am kick off. The Open Age played a friendly game against Castleford Panthers Open Age, winning 44-4. In other matches the Under 15s lost by the closest of margins against Dewsbury Celtic 22-24.

WINNING WAYS AT THE WEEKEND!

There were some good results for our teams at the weekend beginning with the Open Age team having an excellent 58-24 win over Garforth Tigers on Saturday afternoon. Man of the Match Joe Campbell scored 4 tries and 5 goals. The Under 18s beat Wakefield Hawks 34-10; the Under 16s narrowly  lost out to Batley Boys 12-20; the Under 15s had a good away win over Dewsbury Moor 38-0; the Under 14s beat local rivals Eastmoor Dragons 16-8 and  the Under 12s lost out to Oulton Raiders 48-0.

This weekend is another busy one for Stanley Rangers. On Saturday 19th March, the Under 12s have a home game against Oulton Raiders, kicking off at 10.30am; the Under 11s play at home against Sharlston U11s, kicking off at 12.00 and then the Open Age team have a home game against Garforth Tigers with 2.30pm kick off.
On Sunday 20th March, the Under 14s are at home against Eastmoor 11.30am kick off; the Under 15s will be away at Dewsbury Moor kicking off at 11.30am; the Under 16s kick off at 13.00 at home against Batley Boys and finally the Under 18s will be at home against Wakefield Hawks with a 10am kick off.

There are quite a few home games at Ranger Park this weekend and we need to make a polite reminder to everyone coming to the ground. Please can you keep clear of the yellow lines in the car park as the space needs to be kept clear for emergency access. If the car park is full, please can be mindful of our neighbours when parking on the roads. Thank you.
MASTERS FESTIVAL GAMES

Stanley Rangers Masters March 2022
Stanley Rangers Masters had their first run out of the season at the Yorkshire Clubs Festival held at Castleford RUFC ground on Saturday 12th March. There were 18 teams in total and games were played in groups of three, in a round robin format, Stanley playing Ossett and Boothtown. The Masters are now resuming training on a Wednesday evening at 7.30pm at the club. Their next match will be Friday 25th March at Dudley Hill, kick off at 7.00pm.

CHANGE OF OPEN AGE FIXTURE

In a change to the fixture list, the Open Age team will not be playing the cup game against Thornhill Trojans. Instead there will be a home game against the newly reformed Castleford Panthers ARLRC Open Age team. Stanley look forward to welcoming them to Ranger Park once again, with the club having had some great games over the years. Kick off is at 2.30pm and everyone is welcome.

On Friday evening, the Masters team travel to Dudley Hill for a 7pm kick off, on Saturday 26th March, the Open Age are now at home to Castleford Panthers and on Sunday 27th March the Under 15s have a home game against Dewsbury Celtic, kicking off at 11.30am.

The Open Age match away at Thornhill Trojans has been postponed.

Our Under 11s had a great game last night at the pre-match festival at Wakefield Trintiy. Over ten teams for amateur clubs took part in the games and everyone had a good time. The team photo for the Under 11s at the match last night is on their team page.
THIS WEEKEND'S FIXTURES

This weekend is another busy one for Stanley Rangers. On Saturday 12th March, the Under 12s are away at Lock Lane with a 10am kick off; the Open Age have their first away fixture of the new season at Thornhill Trojans 2.30pm KO and the Masters are also away at the Castleford Festival. On Sunday 13th March, the Under 18s are away at Emley Moor, Kick Off 11.30am; the Under 16s have a friendly at home against  Dewsbury Celtic with a 11.30am kick off and the Under 14s are away at Lindley Swifts, with a 10.30am kick off.

Open Age match March 05 The Open Age begin their 2022 season this coming Saturday - March 5th. They will be playing at home against Dodworth Miners ARLFC with a 2.30pm kick off. Our Open Age team were top of their division last year and are looking forward to a good season. Come along on Saturday and give our team your support!

Our Under 15s had a good start to their season with a good win 18-6 over Dewsbury Celtic in a friendly game at Ranger Park.The Under 16s had the first match in Division 6, travelling to Batley Boys, losing out 16-28.

This coming weekend, there are matches on both Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday 5th March, the Under 11s have a friendly game at home against Leeds Underdogs, kick off at 12 noon. the Under 12s are also at home against Birkenshaw Blue Dogs with a 10.30am kick off, and the Open Age will be at home against Dodworth Miners ARLFC at 2.30pm.
On Sunday 6th March the Under 16s will be facing Bramley Rugby League U16s at home at 12.30; the Under 15s are away at Siddal Rugby Club and the Under 14s are at home against Hemsworth Dragons with a 10.30am kick off.

Stanley Rangers U12s 2022Stanley Rangers Under 12s are recruiting for players to come and join the team. They move into the competitive side of rugby league this season and are hoping to gain a few players to bolster their squad's numbers. No experience is needed - we support player development for all abilities, whether you're new or old to rugby league.

If you're a boy in school year 7 then come along and give us a try. The team are training Saturdays 12.30pm throughout February and moving back to mid week in March. Stanley Rangers v Dodworth Miners matchThe Open Age began their season in Division Four with a strong win over a hard-working Dodworth Miners 42-0 at Ranger Park. Points came from tries by Joe Campbell, Cameron Halliwell, Jack Ledger (2), Ryan Strafford (2), Danny Grice, Charlie Ledger and 5 goals from Danny Ansell. On Saturday 12th March, Stanley take a short trip to Thornhill Trojans, who also won their first match 26-22 over Kippax and Swillington Miners.

Our Under 16s had a good win over Bramley Rugby League 20-4 and our Under 15s also gained two points over Siddal U15s with a 36-6 win. The Under 14s lost out to Hemsworth Dragons 10-36 and the Under 12s were beaten 0-40 by Birkenshaw Blue Dogs.

Stanley Rangers Half Term Elite CampThis week has been the first rugby camp for Stanley Rangers when the Elite Kids Coaching team came to Rangers Park on Wednesday and Thursday. The sun shone on Wednesday when this photo was taken and the big smiles show how much everyone enjoyed the day.

Both the Under 18s game away at Keighley Albion and the Under 16s match at home against Leeds Underdogs have both been postponed. The next fixtures will be on the 27th February when the U18s will be at home to Doncaster Toll Bar and the U16s travel to Batley Boys for an away fixture. The weekend of the 5th and 6th March will see the beginning of the junior and Open Age fixtures.

Big screen showing Showing on the big screen at Stanley Sports and Social Club on Saturday 19th February will be the match between Hull FC and St Helens in the second round of the Super League 2022 season. Stanley Rangers Open Age Troy Snowden was trialling at Hunslet today in the Harry Jepson Trophy match. Troy joined the Open Age team last season and impressed everyone with his hard work in attack and defence, earning him the Player of the Year award. Open Age coach Roy Sampson is delighted that Troy has had the opportunity to train and have a trial game with Hunslet and everyone at Stanley Rangers wishes him all the luck.

HALF TERM CAMP AT RANGERS PARK

Half term rugby camp at Stanley RangersHalf term is approaching and here's a great way to keep the kids fit, have fun and make friends! The first camp of 2022 at Rangers Park has landed  in the February holidays, run by the fantastic Elite Kids Coaching on the 23rd and 24th February between 10am - 3pm, for 5-12 year olds. They provide fun-packed days of rugby league activities coached by rugby professionals. The cost is £20 per day or £35 for both days and it's open to all the community. Children will need water bottles, a packed lunch and a lot of energy!

Stanley Rangers U15s team 2021-22 Stanley Rangers Under 15s are in the quarter finals of the BARLA Yorkshire Cup and will be at home to Oulton Raiders on Sunday - 9th January - kicking off at 11am. Come down to Lee Moor and give our boys your support in this cup game. The clubhouse will be open in the afternoon to show the West Ham v Leeds United match kicking off at 2pm. All are welcome.
