HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM THE STANLEY RANGERS CHAIRMAN! |
01.01.23
A message from our chairman Shaun, looking
back over 2022 and what the club has
achieved:
"I just wanted to take the opportunity
to drop everyone a quick note to wish you
all a very Happy New Year. Looking back on 2022
it has been another fantastic year for
Stanley Rangers. Our junior playing numbers
have again increased from 168 to 185 this is
the most juniors we have had registered in
over 10 years! We have also increased the
number of qualified coaches to 19 and
including the Open Age and Masters teams we
have near on 330 people registered to our
club and I would like to thank everyone
involved in making this happen.
Our Open Age team managed to top last
season by winning the league again and
gaining promotion and also winning the 2 Cup
competitions they entered which is a massive
feat for all involved so congratulations
must go to all the player who have pulled on
the Red and Black shirt and special thanks
goes to Roy, John, Tom and the rest of the
coaching team.
One of the highlights of the year was
seeing the group of volunteers embark on the
National Three Peaks Challenge to raise
funds not only for Stanley Rangers but also
for Andy’s Man Club and Prostate UK
charities with them both receiving cheques
for £1500 so a massive thank you from all at
the club for going through the pain barrier
for us all.
We would like to make 2023 an even
better year than 2022, we are planning
already for events throughout 2023 so if you
would like to join in and volunteer or have
any suggestions please get in touch.
And finally I hope you have a great
night celebrating New Years Eve and please
raise a glass in remembering love ones lost
this year. We are a Rugby family and I urge
you all to do what you can to reach out to
one another just to say “Hi. How are you? “.
That call might make someone’s day. Just
knowing that there’s someone else out there
thinking about them will make a difference.
It is the RANGERS way.
Shaun."
