Stanley Rangers 36 v Castleford Panthers 18

Stanley's first match of the new season began with a good win over Castleford Panthers 36-18 at Lee Moor.

Rangers began well with tries by Sean Abson and Chris Grice, both converted by Danny Grice. Castleford replied with two converted tries giving the half time score all-square at 12-all.

The second half saw Stanley come back with a strong defensive performance along with good scoring from a brace each from Carl Hughes and Joel Marsh and a Jamie Bell try. Grice added two further goals. The final score was 36-18 to Rangers putting them second in the Division Two table after the opening game of the season.

This coming weekend - 21st March- Stanley Rangers travel to Oldham St Annes.

Castleford Panthers:
