After a spell of losses, Stanley picked up two valuable points with a 36-24 win over Dewsbury Celtic last Thursday 31st August, after being 18-0 down after 30 minutes.
A strong start by hosts Dewsbury Celtic saw Paul Foulstone crossing twice, with further tries from Dom Senior and Billy Yarrow. Conversions from Foulstone making it 18-0. However, Stanley's Sam Swire began to close the gap with an unconverted try to give a 18-4 deficit at half time.
In the second half, Rangers fought back and added tries by Lee Alderson, Marcus Stock, Jack Ledger, Martin Holland and Joe Campbell, with four goals kicked successfully by Danny Grice. Dewsbury crossed in the closing seconds with a converted try to James Walker but by then it was Stanley who were the clear winners.
