Two evenly matched teams played a cracking contest, with Stanley U11s coming up just short against Leeds Irish.

Irish opened the scoring but Stanley responded well with nice hands creating space for Charlie Marsh to dummy over, Luke Shelton adding the extras. The teams then again trading tries with Marsh again finding space to score and adding the conversion too, the leaving the teams level at half time.

In the second half Irish started well with 2 individual tries to extend their lead but Stanley hit back with some crunching 1 on 1 tackles from Tom Chivers and strong running from Harvey Harrap keeping them on the back foot but they just couldn't break the Irish line right up till a minute from time when Declan Smith barged over in the corner with Luke Shelton converting. It was too little too late though as Stanley came up just short.
