Stanley Rangers U11s just lost out to a Leeds Irish side in a real nip and tuck affair.
Irish opened the scoring but Rangers quickly responded promoting the ball for Euan Gaskin to finish well in the corner. Leeds Irish scored next but Stanley hit back in style with Cassius Armstrong getting on the end of some lovely Handing to score, Lewis Robinson adding the extras.
In the second half Stanley were really on top with Declan Smith and Elliot Griffiths taking it to them in attack and Will Davies solid in defence but struggled to break a dogged Leeds Irish. Two Leeds Irish tries came against the run of play and put daylight between the sides although Rangers hit back through Charlie Marsh with a lovely show and go to score. With the last play of the game Marsh was through again only to be halted by a fine last-ditch tackle to deny Rangers a win.
