A brilliant team effort from Stanley U11s who only had 11 players, produced a cracking win away at Newsome.

Stanley opened the scoring with a trademark try for Declan Smith scoring from short range.   Stanley then increased when lovely hands saw Lewis Robinson slice through to score. Newsome responded scoring twice before Dylan Shepherd outpaced Newsome to score for the teams to go in level at half time.

The second half saw Stanley start strong with Jack Roberts and Lewis Robinson determined in defence and Euan Gaskin and Shepherd piercing holes in attack, allowing Tom Chivers the chance to strip the defence to score, Shepherd converted. Newsome again hit back to narrow the scores until another Shepherd break was pulled down just short but well supported by Elliot Griffiths who then scored on the next play, Dan Hagen converting. Newsome did score last but it was too little to late as Stanley ran out worthy winners.
