Under 11s Match Reports, 2019

Elland U11s v Stanley Rangers U11s

We all set off to Elland in the wind and rain in our third game as the Under 11s. Rangers started the game with anticipation - could we make it three in a row?

A good first attack and we were quickly rewarded with a try from Wright. Unfortunately the wind prevented Wright from converting! Stanley continued to dominate the first half with good attacking and defensive play, with further rewards from Law, Wright and Keany. Unfortunately the wind proved to be a major factor today, as none of the rewards were converted. Stanley continued to make some good yards with excellent drives from Fletcher Dove and Cawther backed up by Kirk, Talbot and Law and outstanding tackling from Morley. Stanley finished the first half with a commanding lead.

Stanley started the second half with a slight uphill disadvantage, as had Elland in the first half, but the Ranger's held their own for the first ten minutes of the second half and it seemed like they might hold Elland, but Elland came back with a vengeance with two quick rewards on Stanley line, even though the boys fought in vain to keep them out but another burst from Elland and Ranger's lost their composure for a short spell. Reassurance from their coach and  Stanley composed themselves and another reward was gained from Keany and a conversion sealed it.

Thanks to all parents for bringing their kids, and to our stand in coach Graham and Pete, for helping out. Great game today boys look forward to our next game! Thank you to the u11s for observing a minutes silence for Martyn Holland at their game away at Elland this weekend.
