The boys were at home to York Acorn this weekend and they started
their game with the same passion that they had shown the previous
week.
Stanley were off to a quick start with a quick
thinking Lewis Wright, out manoeuvring his opponent to score a try,
Followed by a successful conversion.Stanley went on to score two
more tries from Oakley Fletcher, then York woke up and replied with
a try and a conversion under the posts! Stanley then replied with
another converted try just before half time giving them a comanding
lead.
York started their second half strong with two tries, bringing
them very close to Stanley's first half comanding lead.
York
continued to dominate the second half of play. as Stanley seamed
to lose there heads for a short time, then the front men Keany and
Fletcher drove some great runs with good supporting play from
Morley, Talbot and Kirk giving Stanley four more tries with two
from Keany and two more from Fletcher , giving back their
comanding lead over York. York played some good defensive play and
had some good runs to get them over the try line three more times,
all of which they converted. Stanley also scored twice more with
another converted try from Wright and one from Kirk, giving
Stanley their second win in a row even with some of their key
players away.
Carry on the good work lads.
