Stanley Rangers U12s 34 v Eastmoor Dragons
U12s 0 Wakefield Cup Semi Final
22..04.19
Stanley progressed to the final of the Wakefield Cup with a
complete team performance.
Stanley started the game playing up hill and received the kick
off from the fired up visitors.
The first set of the game saw Stanley work their way up field
and they finished the set with an excellent kick from Ewan Molyneux,
that was well chased and resulted in Eastmoor being trapped in their
in-goal. From the resulting drop out Stanley got themselves close to the
Eastmoor line and Finley Tate forced his way over for the opening
try. Josh Chapman converted 6 - 0. Stanley quickly added a second score when James Astin picked up
a wayward pass to show great pace to round the Eastmoor defence and
run 60+ metres to score under the posts. Zack Leaworthy converted 12 - 0.
Stanley were again rewarded for their good kick chase after Alex
Hope's tackle forced his opposition winger to drop the ball on the
first tackle and from the resulting set Ewan Molyneux spotted the
opposition defence napping to scoot over for Stanle's 3rd try of
the game without Eastmoor really having the ball. Conversion missed 16 - 0. Stanley's defence was finally tested when they turned the ball
over from the kick off and Eastmoor came close to scoring but
Stanley scrambled to keep them out and that was the closest they
would come to scoring all game. Stanley got 1 more try before half time, Ewan Molyneux again
jinking his way over out wide. Conversion missed HT 20 - 0.
The second half saw more of the same with
Stanley dominating both in attack and defence and they added 3
further tries from Lewis Spivey, Finlay Tate and James Astin from
some entertaining play. Only 1 of those was converted by Josh
Chapman. With a little more composure Stanley could
have added more scores but every player played their part in the win
and they now have a final against Normanton Knights to look forward
to!
Awards went to : Zack Leaworthy - Oppositions
