Coache's Report:
Today we played away at Thornhill and the boys and girls just clicked this week. What they have been doing in training flowed out of them on the pitch, and it was so encouraging to watch.
As coaches, it was a proud 40 minutes, seeing the defensive line work together, tackle after tackle, set after set. In attack, they had a plan and organisation. The forwards drove strong and with purpose, they had a job to do, and they were great. The backs similarly had responsibilities, and used the width of the u10's field really well.
Each player was brilliant today and we'd like to mention them all individually but there simply isn't enough room or time to do so, but a couple of special mentions are called for. Firstly to Oliver for a brave run having 3 tacklers trying to stop him, but he would not let them take him to ground - great for only his second game. Secondly was Joe who made every tackle from marker in 1 set, and on the fourth he forced a knock-on giving us the ball back.
These young kids are steadily becoming a true team, working together to achieve their goals, and enjoy playing for each other. This was displayed throughout the game today from everyone, and they were rewarded with a win.
Each player today was awarded a certificate as it was felt that they all deserved recognition for how hard they worked as individuals and as a team.
Joe Saine Cawthra won opposition Player of the Match and our Magic Moment.
Joshua Fagge won Parents Player of the Match
A special mention to Mea Makepeace on her debut.
